The unexpected Sweet & Spicy story of Sheri’s Pepper Jelly

The Unexpected Sweet & Spicy Story of Sheri’s Pepper Jelly!

The Urban Garden

This is the story of Sheri’s Pepper Jelly started in my garden. I love to grow a garden and I love to cook great food for friends and family, including sweet and spicy dishes.  In my garden, I grow many ingredients for my meals.  It’s a small garden, and it’s all in pots!  Yes, I have an urban garden.  However, I have all the spices that I use regularly. I love growing oregano, basil, chives, thyme and stevia.  There are also strawberries, beans, tomatoes, jalapeños, and habaneros!  I switch it up every year a little.

The Summer Story of Sheri’s Pepper Jelly

The homemade pepper jelly story began in the garden. There was a bumper crop of Habaneros in my little garden one year.  Suprise! Eventually, there were so many habaneros, which meant that I had to think of a way to use them.

These are spicy hot little peppers, that can season a couple of pounds of ground beef for tacos with just one pepper!  The first time I tried one, I had way too much on a tostada. It wasn’t easy to get over that heat! Eventually, I learned how to control the heat in the dishes and enhance it with other flavors.

Later, I discovered making the jelly with them. There are a lot of ways to use the habaneros but particularly loved the Apricot Habanero Jelly.  At the same time, the sweet and spicy pepper jelly was something I could use in many ways, too!

This Apricot Habanero Jelly was a sweet and spicy hit with everyone! I gave it as a gift for the Holidays one year and had rave responses! It isn’t only a great jelly for a spread, but you can top cream cheese for an appetizer, add it to wine for fish or shrimp sauce, and other homemade sweet and spicy dishes! I wanted to share it with everyone! Go to the Recipes page see a few.

Our Blog, Social and Events…

It’s an apricot habanero homemade pepper jelly that has so many great uses, I’ve only scratched the surface. I’ve added some recipes to start, but there are many more coming to the website!  First, I have to have some time to reflect and do some testing. Some of the testers may appear at my events this year. More to come. I’ll be posting some events from my Facebook page for Sheri’s Pepper Jelly. Periodically I will create events to promote the jelly, but also to connect with everyone!

Let me know how you use this sweet and spicy pepper jelly, too!  Check our Contact page to email me your best recipe with Sheri’s Apricot Habanero Jelly!  If I post or blog about it, you’ll get something sweet & spicy, too!
